Description

This was a one off, I don’t expect to ever see or make another!

A set of US-style pedestrian crossing signs, 2 heads on one wall mounted pole, recreated using a set of vintage German 1986 manufactured (so more than likely WestGerman in origin) loading bay / underground car park traffic lights.

They are powered using a supplied brand new 24VDC power supply and a reconditioned SIEMENS (very appropriate given the origin of the lights) LOGO! mini programmable device. We are using the version that has transistor, rather than relay, outputs, so is also completely silent in operation. Fully programmed, and if you have an appropriate Serial or USB cable and suitable LOGO!Soft Comfort software, you can make easy changes to suit any needs you may have.

The signal will operate in a typical sequence randomly every 150 seconds or so, but also on demand by pressing the button on the box.

Dimensions are:
Signal Heads are 30cm tall, 15 cm wide and approx. 15cm deep, there are two of these as per the picture.
Frame overall dimensions are 55cm tall, overall approx. 50cm wide, with an 18mm ‘standoff’ from the wall mounting.
The mounting plate is approx. 10cm x 10cm thick steel plate with four bolt-holes.
The controller is 120xx square and approx. 90cm deep. A spare ‘Belling’ type 6 pin plug is included inside in case the existing one is ever damaged.
Usable cable is approx. 4m long.
The Power supply is 24VDC with approx. 1m long cord.

Weight approx. 10kg*

There is a 24V Power Supply which plugs into a controller box which has a single button to ‘request a crossing’ but the lights will run a sequence every approx. 3 minutes with an element of random delay.

The power supply plugs into the box, and the signals plug into the controller via a 6 pin plug, there is approx. 4m of cable from the box to signals.
The plug is quite a snug fit and should always be removed by the body, NEVER by pulling the cable!

*Please note that the whole assembly is VERY HEAVY and will need the guidance of an experienced handyman or builder to safely mount to the wall, using appropriate fixings, which are not supplied (since we don’t know what sort of wall you have). Expert advice and/or specialist fixings will be required for a floating or ‘dot and dab’ wall. Expert advice and/or specialist fixings will be required for a hollow or plasterboard wall (or strengthening with wood etc…).
