Description
Please allow 3-5 days for delivery.
This machine is AS NEW older stock that has (I suspect) only been out of the box for display and testing purposes since it was manufactured circa 2007.
I genuinely believe it has ever been properly fitted to a wall – the brackets are sticky-taped into the original box foams.
This FULLY WORKING 6 shelf (‘column’) machine from Unicorn (formerly SelfServe) is a 1990s design with many updates and improvements over the years.
Includes the 2 mounting brackets (not shown) but no fitting kit e.g screws and rawlplugs. The battery pack is designed for long term, ‘off load’ storage and appears to be in excellent order. NO mains supply needed! There is a small repair to the battery bracket, as shown, I also add double sided sticky pads to stop it moving around, and pack the box out for transport so it has some support.
It will take UK coins including 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p and the new £1 coin. You can also disable any coin – although due to escrow only 6-7 coins in total can be used per vend, so you can’t insert 200 pennies anyway!
Although the prices are currently set to £2.00 you can change them easily. Full instructions are supplied via a PDF engineering manual.
Please note the video below is from our recent 7 shelf machine, the pictures are of the exact machine for sale.
The lock had to be drilled out as the keys had been lost, but has been replaced with a genuine Unicorn part. I did this very carefully, but you can see a little pinhole from the initial drill in the cashbox.
The other machine we sold had a ‘foam liner’ to the right hand side where the products drop. This machine doesn’t have one – we contacted Unicorn to obtain a spare and were told they no longer bother to fit them anyway!
This machine is completely electronic. There is a very innovative mixture of plastic, cast and aluminium parts in this machine. We will do a blog on it one day, as it is a significant watershed / swansong in mechanical to electronic machine history, there isn’t a name for it but it almost feels like SelfServe had their own version of ‘new edge‘ design going on in the late 80s to mid 90s.
The machine itself is 36cm (width) x 23cm (depth) x 100cm (height), it weighs 13.5kg and comes with custom wall mounting brackets.
Minimum Packet Sizes: 60mm x 45mm x 15mm, Maximum Packet Sizes: 135mm x 90mm x 42mm, but preconfigured as below;
Columns 1-3 are set up for 3 packs of stick or tablet gum. We’ve made inserts for ‘Extra’ gum as it is easily available.
Columns 4-6 are set up for the ‘100’ 49g size of TicTacs, in the UK you can easily buy Mint, Orange and Lime, Fruit Adventure and Cherry Cola in this larger size. Buttons are ‘doubled up’.
It will NOT work with the 18-19g sizes; they are simply too small. Any small future variations in the 49g size can be easily adjusted without tools, a full manual is supplied.
The machine, although now supplied (for over £1000!) with a more graphic display than the simpler one of this older model, is still FULLY SUPPORTED as a current product with spares availability.
The machine pictured here is the exact item you will receive.
