(Featured picture – an old Bristol, e.g. made by Bristol Commercial Vehicles, not just operated in, bus in cornea straining CityLine livery).
Wandering about Bristol harbour the other day, we found this great repurposed vending machine from Supamatic (website and full story at https://supafantastic.com/ – yes, that’s the correct address, almost as confusing as Rose Cottage Automatics & Vintage, right?) so we thought we would be willing consumers in the interest of blogging. Turns out this is Bertha, by the way.

First up, lovely case artwork, have a look here to find out some more – https://supafantastic.com/artists/scotty-gillespie/

We bought a bookmark from Ferne Creative but if anyone from there or Supamatic is reading, bear in mind the QR code on the packet is no longer working, perhaps due to a name change, but takes you to a dead page on https://supafantastic.com/. Luckily you can just use search!

We worked out just a few moments after buying that the ‘spare change’ in the packet, which is exactly how old cigarette machines often worked, was actually to make sure the bookmark dropped properly into the collection tray, rather than fluttering onto the shelf below like a lost bird.
Meanwhile in Swindon… This is the old, disused entrance to Town Gardens Bowl, complete with the original turnstiles. It’s completely superflous now and you can just walk to the left, where you will have your ticket checked manually. I was just very impressed by the old turnstiles still being present…

And finally, opposite the old turnstiles, top marks for re-use of old signs and lights at a public park.

That’s all for now, see you again soon!
