Rough and ready workshop video here, but very satisfying since this machine came in with a broken handle, ground off gears, a broken coin mech (stuffed with jammed coins – hey, I’m 40p up in old 10ps) and now serves the finest YORKIE bars (click here for a history). Available for sale immediately here this is an interesting machine. How so?
Well, this is a BDR, exactly the same as a Barber-Weston but after Barber-Weston had stopped making them! So with production moved to Bristol, this machine is the far rarer Nestle version. This is slightly different to a Cadburys, having a large Perspex window at the top to which a selection of card decals could be added. Much easier and simpler (and cheaper, after the extra initial costs) than the Cadbury metal plates and latterly stickers.

There is, perhaps, even a space to put a small light in the top right hand corner to light up the window if you wanted? (Picture from Cadburys version, otherwise the same!).

And on the same day, here’s a Cadburys BDR machine;
And you can buy this one here!
Just for fun – try this one!
