Any number of things you might find interesting

First up something we’ve barely scratched the surface of yet is our Fisholow / GKN wall mounted vending machines. We did restore two for use with Cadbury’s Snack packets, but that’s it. They will be far more to come in the future.

What I hadn’t seen any of, until I saw two at once, were any of them with original decals;

And here’s a random peek into my phones history, nearly a year ago when we visited Ireland, at the ferry port we went into the Pembrooke Dock Heritage museum. In one of the corridors, they had some old desks, which were covered in period stickers. Just in case the desks were never seen again I thought I’d take a few pictures.

Some scary stuff about fires there amongst the Star Wars and Corona pop whimsey, but also a trade sticker for Plessey which suggests some connection with the RAF who were based at the docks too for a while.

And finally, we bring you the story about the postbox that thought it was a scanner…

Given the wonky solar ‘hat’ and moisture ingress, I didn’t think this would work, but pressing the button actually did wake up the scanner. Who knows if all that water would have stopped it scanning though? I recently saw a few boxes round our way wrapped in plastic and assumed theft (idiots last year were taking up drain covers for scrap) but now I know why.

A good enough idea, but comes across as not quite implemented quite right. Don’t miss our Amsterdam update!
